From ancient times this dog has been used for hunting hare in inaccessible areas, such as those of the Apennine mountains. Therefore this breed is very skinny and light. Very quiet and affectionate, this hound is an excellent companion who loves to be pampered and, especially with children, is extremely patient and playful.
